Fantastic song…. lyrically light, but fun to sing along:
Have a slice on me!
Calculate for free
Punch in the digits
Add whipped topping
Ready or not
Better get it while it’s hot
Kids can learn from pie
It’s scientifantastic
Its funny to see how much hype has gone into this new Guns ‘n’ Roses album. All the major record outlets have ads up, Futureshop even has an ad on the telly. Here’s the thing “No One Cares”. GnR are a band from the 90s, they had their heyday, their time in the sun, and I’ll admit, I enjoyed their music (well at least up until the double album). The only people who will be buying this in any great numbers are the same people who still go to Def Lepard concerts, and think the Mid 80′s to mid 90′s were the “best time for rock”. Which is fine, to each his own. But come on, does Axel Rose really think he’s going to get a come back out of this? Music has moved on in much more interesting ways, the straight forward rock n roll of the past is good for nostalgia, but the kiddies aren’t in to it. They are more into bands who are current. It’s like the Rolling Stones, who under the age of 50 actually buys their recent material?
So goodbye Mr Rose, and please leave gracefully so that the fans you do have left can keep a good memory of your musical input in their lives.
Here, I’m having a crap day, so I hope this offends people…
I can’t believe I missed this. Well, I can believe it, as I was slightly out of touch on Holiday, only a hundred or so miles north of Portland in Seattle..
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Mitch Mitchell, drummer for the legendary Jimi Hendrix Experience of the 1960s and the group’s last surviving member, was found dead in his hotel room early Wednesday. He was 61.
Mitchell was a powerful force on the Hendrix band’s 1967 debut album “Are You Experienced?” as well as the trio’s albums “Electric Ladyland” and “Axis: Bold As Love.” He had an explosive drumming style that can be heard in hard-charging songs such as “Fire” and “Manic Depression.”
The Englishman had been drumming for the Experience Hendrix Tour, which performed Friday in Portland. It was the last stop on the West Coast part of the tour.
Hendrix died in 1970. Bass player Noel Redding died in 2003.
Had a great couple of days in Seattle, but I’m glad we are heading home in a few hours…
To hear grown men discussiing video games as if they were science. I like playing games, and it can be fun to discuss with a fellow gamer, but to memorize every aspect of a massive game, like World of Warcraft, and spout of numbers and stats, and crits, and combinations… It’s all a bit too uber geek for me…
